Olympia

The 2009 Maine Summer Olympics are this weekend. Hectic week preparing for one day of events. Ethan and I have been emailing back and forth all week with ideas, rules, brackets, etc. I spent most of the day at the kitchen table, painting and designing different medals. I'm designing the medals for Home Run Derby, Badminton, 100m Dash, and World Geography. I'm also decorating the chalice I found the other day, which goes to the winning team (see picture at the bottom).
Still a lot to do: find a rope for tug-0f-war, finish typing up rules for several events, come up with Opening ceremonies monologue, find a field to hold the Derby, hopefully find a referee shirt for my dad to wear.
Speaking of my dad, I spoke to him for the first time in our lives when we were both unemployed. He retired this week and for the first time in his life, he's taking it easy. He's leaning towards taking a job with a private company, but not right away. First he has to ref the Maine Olympics.
I'll have more pictures soon. Got the new camera in the mail today, just have to buy a bigger Memory card then I'll be uploading medal photos and hopefully some good shots of the Maine Olympics.
